Several imaging techniques are used for diagnostic imaging such as MRI, ultrasound and CT scan. The medical imagining technique which makes use of strong magnetic fields, radio waves and magnetic field gradients for the purpose of producing images of the organs in the body is known as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). It helps to detect and characterize renal lesions. MRI of the kidneys is used in cases wherein a person's renal system is compromised, or suffers from contrast allergy. It is also used avoid radiation exposure to people such as pregnant women and small children. In cases where the CT scan results are nondiagnostic, MRI can be used as a problem solving modality. This book elucidates the concepts and innovative models around prospective developments with respect to the diagnostic imaging of the kidneys. It presents studies on the tools and techniques used within this field in the most comprehensible and easy to understand language. This book includes contributions of experts and scientists which will provide innovative insights into this field.
