It begins with a brief history of Canada's links with the Americas and Canada's entry into the Organization of American States. It then describes the components of the Inter-American system for the protection of human rights, including legal instruments, monitoring bodies, and mechanisms for protection and redress. Next, it discusses issues raised before the Committee, including the right to life, freedom of expression, the right of reply, property rights, expulsion of nationals, and equality rights, as well as advantages to ratification. The report closes with the Committee's conclusions and recommendations.
