Larcker and is forthcoming in the Journal of Accounting and Economics. In the second chapter, I examine how an increase in tick size affects algorithmic trading, fundamental information acquisition, and the price discovery process around earnings announcements. This chapter is co-authored with my co-advisor Charles M.C. Lee and is forthcoming in The Accounting Review. In the third chapter, I explore the growing market for startup employee equity using proprietary data from one of the largest of these marketplaces. This chapter is under revision for submission to a top accounting or finance journal.
