Yet, can it be denied that the whole history of mining in British Columbia has been a sufficient justification for the attitude adopted by our Seattle contemporary? We feur not. To-day practically every man in the coast towns who makes an effort to exploit the province's resources is dubbed a "grafter" or a "crank," his enthusiasm sneered at, his efforts derided and hampered. British Columbia is to-day entering on a period of immense activity and development. Will her citizens play their part in this development, and follow the energetic and courageous example set by their American cousins, or will they sit idly by and let their heritage be harvested for the benefit of strangers?.__i__.l_ii THE FISH CREEK CAMP.
