The family immigrated to the United States in 1866, lived a few months at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, then moved to Camden, New Jersey. While they were living at Camden, her husband was killed in a factory accident. She and her children returned back to Hopewell Hill in 1867. She married 2) Lemuel Moore (1842-1895) son of Charles H. Moore. They had at least one son born in 1875.
