The recommendations which came out of the workshop were: (1) Improve professional education in human lactation and breastfeeding. (2) Develop public education and promotional efforts. (3) Strengthen the support for breastfeeding in the health care system. (4) Develop a broad range of support services in the community. (5) Initiate a national breastfeeding promotional effort directed to women in the World of work. (6) Expand research on human lactation and breastfeeding.
