For that occasion a group of his colleagues and former pupils have wished to pay homage to Tore Nyberg with a festschrift. His is a household name in Birgittine studies, but he has made valuable contributions within a number of other fields: the introduction and growth of Christianity in Scandinavia; the integration of Scandinavia and the Baltic Region in the cultural sphere of the Latin West, always with an eye to relations with and influences from the East; urban history; and monasticism in general.
