Book excerpt: "This report discusses the results from a survey of employers in the Nebraska City area titled the Southeast Nebraska Survey of Hiring and Training Needs. This study was conducted by the Nebraska Department of Labor in collaboration with the Nebraska Department of Economic Development and the Bureau of Business Research at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. The Southeast Nebraska Survey of Hiring and Training Needs was designed to gather detailed information on the hiring and training needs and priorities of Nebraska City area businesses. Specifically, information was gathered from employers about the types of occupations they are searching for and hiring; the types of degrees, certifications, and skills that occupations require; and the types of training they provide. The Nebraska City survey area included all or parts of eight counties in the southeast region of Nebraska and southwest Iowa, including Johnson, Nemaha, Pawnee, Otoe, and Richardson counties in Nebraska" (page 5).
