He told me the stories and illustrated them and some of his artwork was done just for fun. I have typed and edited it for him. Brian and I live in Alpine, Texas and have a small ranch 35 miles south of Alpine, Texas. Brian has been a rancher all his life and a Police Officer for Sul Ross State University in Alpine for 21 years. He retired in February 2012 and intends to keep riding colts, day working and taking care of the ranch. He has said for the last 10 years that we have 40 years of work to do on the ranch, but only 20 years in which to do it. Prior to working as a Police Officer, he worked as a Deputy Sheriff for Brewster County and worked for various ranches throughout the years. I was also a Reserve Police Officer for several years for the City of Alpine and have worked at a local Drug Store for more than 30 years.
