He married Frances Robins about 1777 in Randolph County, North Carolina and they had 13 children. William died in Gilmer County, Georgia on 9 July 1840. Frances also died in Gilmer County on 7 June 1836. Their children and descendants have lived in Georgia, South Carolina, Arkansas, Mississippi, and other areas in the United States.
