He witnessed mass executions of Jews from his town, as well as from Eisiskes (Lithuania), Lida (Belarus), and Radun, all of whom were concentrated in the Radun ghetto. After escaping from a mass execution site and from the Radun ghetto during its liquidation, he wandered in the area between Naujasis Daugeliskis and Radun, hiding in the open and in homes of helpful Gentiles. In April 1943 he joined the partisans in the woods of Puczyce in Poland for 26 months. In 1946 he emigrated to Palestine.
