His parents were Alexander Bradfoot (1722-1752) and Lillias Davidson (1722-1804). Robert came to America and settled in Bedford County, Virginia. He married Sarah Irvine 8 Feb 1777 in Bedford County. They had 8 children. He died in Virginia about 1816. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Virginia, Tennessee and Texas.
