Due to the constant demand for information concerning this subject, the National Advisory Committee on Education requested a digest of legislation and literature relating to Federal subsidies for education. Pursuant to that request, this bulletin covers the following topics: (1) Grants for common schools; (2) Universities, seminaries of learning and normal schools; (3) Colleges of agriculture and mechanic arts and agricultural experiment stations; (4) Land granted for industrial and reform schools; other than educational, and charitable purposes; deaf, dumb, and blind asylums; military institutes; scientific schools; schools of mines; (5) Vocational education; and (6) Literature relative to Federal subsidies for education.
