Carol began her career as an intern writer for Better Homes and Gardens while a student at the University of Missouri. After graduation, she worked at Ladies Home Journal as an associate editor in the food department in New York. Carol and her husband Marshall raised their children Andy and Denise in Colorado Springs and owned a manufacturing company for 13 years. During that time, Carol received a masters in sociology and in counseling. Carol has worked at the Bureau for the last 19 years, which included writing a business column for 10 of those years for the Colorado Springs newspaper, The Gazette.
