Because of this, it seems overwhelmingly important to examine the various fisheries from a biological viewpoint, in order that other supple mentary indices to the condition of the fishery be discovered. In fact, so important is the subject, that even were the statistical criteria satis factory ih themselves, the conclusions drawn from them should be corroborated by additional evidence, naturally biological in character.
