Book excerpt: Excerpt from Hygienic Laboratory, Bulletin No. 13: May, 1903 The thorough and repeated treatment with purgatives which the patients at the Government Hospital receive may explain the com paratively small number of worms which seem to be present in the infected cases, for in all probability many of the worms are eliminated by repeated purgation. Comparison with foreign statistics - We have at present no American statistics of parasitic infection in adults with which to com pare these general results. Following (table 1) are the tabulated results of similar investigations in Europe and Asia, together with those obtained from the work at the Government Hospital.
