Book excerpt: The purpose of this descriptive secondary data analysis was to describe which items on the McCloskey/Mueller Satisfaction Scale RNs were most and least satisfied with in their jobs and to describe these in conjunction with the RNs' age, years of experience as a registered nurse, and work shift patterns. Two of the top five items nurses were most satisfied with across three of the age categories and in all three shift categories were the physicians they worked with and nursing peers. Two items nurses were least satisfied with that were similar in all five years of experience categories were opportunities to write and publish and child care facilities.
