Book excerpt: Based on my observations on differences in learning patterns for kids in different continents, I made small changes to kids' coloring exercise at home to make it more fun, involve family and further enhance kids' learning skills with family's help. I am putting one version of it in this book. Designed to make kid's individual work of coloring a family activity and a treasured memoir for the family. A personal diary for kids to start remembering and thanking people who supported them in completion of their work. The big question is "Will grandparents beat the parents and siblings this time?" Kids practice counting, work detailing and working in a group. Kids can practice making a specific list of help they want and then asking for the same from family members. Kids can practice breaking down an activity in small goals and rating those specific goals while celebrating the help they get. kids must believe that they need to help themselves and outscore others in completing the work they have started. How the book works? Kids flip through the images in the book. With the help of parents, they identify the vehicles often seen in their neighbourhood and they try to take a photo of that vehicle. If they want to color the images immediately, they can do so and there is a blank page for every image for kids to draw the vehicle and paint it again. Kids color the images just like the usual to match the color and design in the real photo. If the first coloring images calls for real life example, the blank page after that allows them to fill their dream color in the same image the second time. Kids identify the person helping them as "the best friend" for each section of this book. Kids break down the various helpings given to them and give a simple yes or no score to the best friend. Then they add up those numbers. Even in a bad mood, the kids will need to speak to family members to complete each section. Kids complete a post-activity fun sheet after every coloring activity, where they see the family members happily vying to be their best friend for their next coloring exercise. After this fun filled team work on kids' coloring exercise repeats itself for many days, the kids add up the best friend scores of all the sections and declare a winner for their most frequent "best friend". The book with kids' photos with many vehicles over a few weeks and scoring tables for parents become a memoir for the parents to not just turn over themselves but also share with everyone else over coffee.
