A decline of the moose population was documented in aerial surveys conducted in 1976, 1977, and 1981, largely attributed to an over harvest of moose by licensed and native hunters. A January 1986 aerial survey showed a continuing decline in the population, making it necessary to repeat the survey in 1989. This report presents the results of that survey. Survey methods followed those used in previous surveys and the boundaries and locations of the 4 strata remained the same also.
