This book presents new media applications for teaching as well as new methodologies to help students with special needs. An investigation of the effectiveness of multimedia computer assisted instruction is presented. The needs of the autistic are addressed in this book as well, with attention given to the use of Virtual Reality applications that may improve the learning, training and quality of life of people with autism as well as other learning difficulties. Musculoskeletal diseases such as rheumatoid and osteoarthritis are some of the major causes of chronic disability. Education is considered to be an integral part of their treatment, equipping patients to cope with the different stages of these progressive diseases. Continued development and innovative use of new media will most likely broaden its appeal and enhance their educational efficacy.
