IT is said of the Siberian hound that, notI withstanding the many interesting legends told of his bravery and sagacity, he is nothing else than a domesticated Arctic wolf, and that he still retains all his wolfish instincts and peculiarities. Whether this be true or not, it cannot be denied that the Siberian hounds shown in the frontispiece certainly do not show any particular wolfish tendencies, and their positions and apparent forlorn situation form a picture that at once appeals to one's sympathetic feelings.
