The patient had now been in hard labor for fifteen hours, and began to show evidence Of fatigue. The foetal head could be rather more easily reached; a fact due, in a great measure, to increased tumefaction Of its scalp. But the vertex was still high above the upper strait, without any tendency to engage in the pelvic canal.
