Foreign agricultural trade statistics in this report were derived from official data released by the Bureau of the Census. Agricultural commodities are defined as (l) nonmarine food products and (2) other products of agriculture which have not passed through complex processes of manufacture, such as fibers, raw hides and skins, fats and oils, beer, and wine. Such manufactured products as textiles, leather, boots and shoes, cigarettes, naval stores, forestry products, and distilled alcoholic beverages are not considered agricultural.
